Homemade granola bars

So i bought some granola from bountiful baskets and i really wasn't in love with it.  I spent over $8 on it though so i didn't want to waste it.  In a large pot I melted half a stick of butter, a bunch of peanut putter and a bag of chocolate chips.  Mixed in all the granola and spread it on a cookie sheet with a silicone pad then pressed m&Ms on top.  Stuck it in the freezer to cool then sliced.  Kids dig it and so do I!

I wish I could add pictures but for some reason when I do it won't publish.  Oh well.  If i get some dates I'm gonna try a Lara bar recipe.  I have lots of mangos and apples.  Gonna try a fruit leather soon!

Yummy asian salad

So in my bountiful basket this week was a head of Napa cabbage.  I've never used it before so i looked up some recipes.  Came across one that sounded like a spinach salad my mom used to make so i gave it a try. Love live love it!  And by keeping the greens the crispiest and the dressing in separate containers I can mix up a bowl whenever I want it!  So in one bowl you chop up a head of the Napa cabbage and some sliced green onions.  Then you melt half a stick of butter and add 2 pkgs well crushed ramen noodles, a cup of sesame seeds and slivered almonds [I didn't have these].  Sir until they are nicely browned but not too dark.  Let cool.  I kept this mix in a container.  Put in fridge.  In small pot I brought to a boil
1/4c cider vinegar
3/4 oil [I used 1/8 sesame and the rest grape seed oil]
1/2 white sugar
2 TB soy sauce

This is also kept in fridge. I put a paper towel over the bowl of greens to absorb moisture.
The just fill a bowl with the greens and sprinkle on some crunchies and add some dressing and YUM!
